Subject: Voluntary De-Recommendation of Sun's SISSL

This is to let you know that Sun Microsystems has volunteered to no longer
recommend the Sun Industry Standards Source License (SISSL).

We appreciate Sun's decision to help control license proliferation! SISSL is still an
Open Source license. It's just not recommended for use
from here on out. The OSI web site will be updated soon to reflect this
change.

So far, the Intel Open Source License, the Jabber Open Source License, and old versions
of Larry Rosen's AFL and OSL have been voluntarily de-recommended.

If your group or organization controls a license that might be a good
candidate for de-recommendation, please contact any OSI board member
with questions (or contact me directly at lmajerus@opensource.org).
