Part of my frustration over the Mundie fiasco is that the OSS communities
handled it so badly.

Microsoft attacked Open Source by name, but the GPL in substance. Classic
smoke and mirrors. And we fell for it hook, line and sinker. His attacks had
absolutely no bearing on a dozen other licenses, yet we were content to let
the media believe that open source equates to strong copyleft. And we didn't
even do that great of a job defending the GPL!

One paragraph could have clammed Mundie up. And that paragraph would have
been something like this:

"Intellectual property that Microsoft would have to disclose if they chose to
base the next Windows on Linux: nada."
