Oh.  Well that ratio sounds about right.  Let's see, how many IT
people does GM have available to provide support?  How many employees?

In the real world, individuals use personalized workstations, running
specific software packages that break after updates because ... that's
what updates do to your systems.

The nightmare of updating 5,000 user's desktops in a small period of
time will tax your 32 person force to the limit.  If you did exactly
that, then over a 12-month period, you could get all 60k users
updated.  Oh, wait, then they won't be all running the same OS version
exactly, and you'll be fighting a multiple-version-os nightmare in
support.

I'm convinced that this won't work.  EDS lives on that fact.
