Let's not forget commodity markets where a whole herd of providers
often remain more or less at parity for a very long time.  Think
soap (how many brands of hand soap are there?) or cereal (Kellogg,
Post, General Mills, Nabisco...).

Of course, computer software and services are not yet at the commodity
level, but they will be eventually.
