"Why did I just pay money for something I could have downloaded for
free?!? Either I'm an idiot...or...I can't defend a socialist
position with a straight face, everybody will laugh at me and never
trust me with money again...or I got cheated."

I've asked some of my own CUSTOMER PROSPECTS, people that CONTACTED ME
about my software, what they would think if I released Host Factory
libre. 18 out of 20 respondants told me point blank (and I love each
and every one of them for their candor) that they could never justify
a purchase to their organization for something they could download.
Some were semi-sympathetic and explained this to me. Others used
shorthand and laughed. I think the remaining two just wanted to use
it for free. And really, I have to agree with my customers. Why
should they pay for it if some other schmuck is going to foot the bill
out of some misguided sense of socialism?
