This is a cheap shot. Documentation is different from books, just as a
computer program is different from a software product you buy at the store.
You can't copyleft a book, but you can copyleft a text. So saying that a
"book" is somehow different from a "computer program" it is not a fair
comparison to make.

RMS, it should be noted, is not the extremist some would have him -- he only
cares about freeing software and its documentation, and not any other kind
of data. That's still a bit left of center, but it is not even close to the
edge.
