The main problem with the UDI stuff (and also with the Linux driver
interface) is that it's heavily UNIX-dependent.  In EROS, we were
forced to abandon the whole disk subsystem because it was just never
going to handle duplexing the way we wanted.

I haven't yet had a chance to look at their interface to see if it's
any better.
