Subject: Collab.net gets heavyweight backing

Collab.net, the company founded by Brian Behlendorf, lead developer on the
Apache Web server project, has just received $35 million in funding from
venture capital firm Bowman Capital and several industry leaders. Backers
include Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, Intel Capital, Dell Computer,
Novell, Oracle, TurboLinux, Opus 360 and Niku, as well as a personal
investment by Marc Andreessen, a member of Collab.net's board of directors
and former chief technology officer at Netscape Communications. W.R.
Hambrecht & Co. was also among the backers
