I am working on a project that may be of interest to members of the group.

It is not about software business per se, but it does involve a market in
information, and one affected, like software markets, by network effects. The
materials can be found by following the "Distra project" links at:

  http://www.nomolog.nagoya-u.ac.jp/~bennett/

The core concept of the project is pretty simple: if there is just one text of
a (foreign) law, society is best off if there is one text of the law as
translated into any given language. Existing copyright law does not promote
this ideal. But if an alternative, less restrictive copyright produces higher
value for society, it may be possible to achieve it through voluntary,
contractual arrangements.

And that is what the project aims to do.

Comments welcome.
