As a sound-bite, there's a difference between software which happens
to be Free, and software which is a free-for-all.  And gee, good
design documentation is a professional expectation - you can cut
corners and just hack, and get away with it (certainly works for
oneself, and below a certain level of complexity) but eventually you
need *something* to get past single-genius code limits...

(and then there are my friends who say "but what we really want is the
*Good* Software Foundation...)
